Mack & Mabel

15th April - 19th April 2008

The year is 1910 and we are in the Keystone Motion Picture Studio, Brooklyn. Young Mabel Normand walks onto the set to deliver a sandwich and catches the eye of director Mack Sennett. Soon she is delivering comedy lines that the audiences adore. As the song says, ‘She was plain little Nellie, the kid from the deli, but Mother of God, looked what happened to Mabel!’

The show follows the stormy relationship between Mack and Mabel when they move to Hollywood and along the way we meet many early movie stars and the crazy Keystone Kops. You will enjoy beautiful songs such as ‘I won’t send Roses’ and ‘Hundreds of Girls’. You are sure to enjoy this story set in the bygone world of the magical, silver screen and, to quote another great song from the show, you can ‘Tap Your Troubles Away!’
